We are the Only Full Service, Fulltime Radio Stations in the market, with exclusive local, regional and national Talk and Christian programming, and a leader in Local News and Community Service.
News/Talk is the #1 radio format in the United States. We broadcast over two-dozen talk shows each week, including top-rated programs from USA Radio Network, BusinessTalk Network and Salem Radio Network.
We do not take our responsibility to listeners and advertisers lightly. We strive to maintain the highest level of integrity and professional service in everything we do.
1490 WLOE, Leaksville, signed on the air December 20, 1946. The call letters were chosen for "Wonderful Land Of Eden." It's what William Byrd called the area when he surveyed it in 1728. The City of Eden was later born on September 13, 1967 with the merger of Leaksville, Spray and Draper.
1420 WMYN, Mayodan, began broadcasting July 15, 1957. Advertisers were told the call letters stood for "We Make Your Name."
The two stations joined together in the summer of 1990, becoming the first AM stations in the state to share programming.
Veteran North Carolina broadcaster Mike Moore, who started in radio in 1960 at age 12, has been with the stations since 1972.
Annette Moore, a Mayodan native, is the Station/Business Manager.
The Moores host the only husband-wife radio show in the region. Their popular Information Hour Monday-Friday mornings at 9:00 receives high marks from listeners and advertisers.
Quality local and national talk shows air Monday thru Friday, with over 50 Christian programs on Saturday and Sunday.
WLOE and WMYN are locally owned and operated, continuing a proud family tradition with a special hometown approach to broadcasting.
Our stations are members of the Eden, Western Rockingham and Reidsville Chambers of Commerce, and The North Carolina Association of Broadcasters.
