Congratulations to Mike Moore for 50 Years in Radio
RockinghamCountyRadio personality Mike Moore is celebrating 50 years in broadcasting. Moore, a North Carolina native, had just turned 13 in July 1960 when be began a half-hour 'top tunes' show on Saturday night at WSAT in Salisbury. He moved to Rockingham County in 1972 as News Director of WLOE in Eden. Moore and his wife Annette operate WLOE and WMYN in Mayodan, the area's only full service stations. He still has a passion for radio after all these years. "I love what I do...am proud of our stations...and appreciate the support of our many loyal listeners, advertisers and friends over the years." WLOE/WMYN/RockinghamCountyRadio have been family owned and operated since signing on the air in 1946. Rockingham CountyRadio is providing monthly North Carolina Travel Updates in 2010, for the third consecutive year.
Susan Dosier and Megan Musgrave with LKM, a strategic communications agency based in Charlotte, will continue to voice the reports on behalf of the North Carolina Division of Travel and Tourism. The ten-minute segments, airing the last week in the month on "Let's Talk" with Mike Moore, highlight travel offers, specials, trip ideas, and include Tar Heel Trivia with listener giveaways.
Dosier and Musgrave have a combined 25 years of public relations and media experience, and travel the state extensively. LKM has served the Division of Tourism for almost 20 years. Moore, a North Carolina native, interviews regional authors, musicians and newsmakers on a regular basis.
WLOE, Eden/Reidsville and WMYN, Madison/Mayodan are the only Full Service Radio Stations in Rockingham County. "Let's Talk" airs live Monday, Tuesday, Thursday and Friday at 11:30 a.m., locally on 1420 and 1490 and worldwide at RockinghamCountyRadio.com and MikeMooreMedia.com.
